Welcome to the Westville Public Library website. The Library is a valuable community resource center, providing excellent services including reading materials, ebooks and audio books, online resources, programming, etc. as we continue to adapt to the public’s ever-changing needs and technologies.  The next Book Sale is November 20 & 21.  See below for details!

Please be courteous! If you sign up for a program and are unable to attend, call the Library and let us know.  Most programs have limited seating.  Also notify the Library if your child is allergic to any foods so refreshments can be adjusted accordingly.
Spa Party for Girls ages 5 & up: Saturday November 7

There are only a handful of spots left to reserve!

The Westville Public Library will be hosting a Spa Party for children age 5 and up.  It will be Saturday, November 7 at 10 AM.  Girls will be treated to a cute hair style and pretty painted nails as well as being able to make their own lip balm and bath salts.  Registration is required by calling the library at 267-3170 or stopping by the front desk.  Space is limited so be sure to register early.

It's Story Time Again!   Storytime features entertaining stories, crafts, and light refreshments.  We will have a guest reader from the military!

Afternoon Movie Matinee: Wednesday November 4, 2:00 pm

The film is a recent release based on a classic novel by author Thomas Hardy.  It is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene , who attracts three very different suitors.  This timeless story of Bathsheba's choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love - as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance. It is a beautiful and sumptuous adaption of Hardy's story, with characters you grow to care a lot about and root for, a storyline which keeps your attention and surprises you throughout and a definite feeling of satisfaction at the end.  Please call the library to register to see this wonderful new adaptation of a classic story at 267-3170.

Afternoon Movie Matinees are for adults 18+. Light refreshments served.  Movie starts at 2:00 pm.  Reservations required.
The Library has many movies, TV Series, and documentaries available to borrow!  Loan period is 1 week, items may be renewed.

Lots of Bargains!  Our book sales are in the building directly behind the Library. 
Simply follow the sidewalk on the north side of the building around to the back.
Monday Night Knitting Club: Mondays 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
A Knitting Club meets at the Library on Mondays,  from 5:00 - 7 pm. For newbies or the experienced . . . stay a little or the entire time . . . bring your projects or start something new!  The Library also has a selection of craft books available for check out!

If you're new to knitting, the Knitting Club recommends this starter project to learn how to make a dish cloth -  Recommended materials to bring: a skein of Sugar & Cream yarn (white, yellow, or cream), and a pair of Size 10 knitting needles, 10" in length.
Robert G. Biage Memorial Chess Club: on hiatus until further notice
The Chess Club is geared for any skill level from beginner to expert. 

We are looking for new members as well as a volunteer to run the club!
Come to play chess - be sure to bring a friend! Tournament style chess boards and pieces are available to use in the library, as well as two timers. 
If you need to polish up your game or want to learn, be sure to check out our chess books!
IHLS We are a member of the Illinois Heartland Library System, which allows us to serve you better! Items may be requested from other libraries in the system, which further expands the variety of materials available to the public.
